Just got my surgical packet from C.C. Am not feeling quite as "cool" as I have been, but this too shall pass!

i spent two days reading all the stuff that cleveland clinic sent me. it does hit hard and the one day all i could think about was that but it passed after a couple of days. when is your surgery braveheart?

jax- The thing is that it is still TENTATIVELY scheduled for July 1st. The deal is that the doctors think that I am "borderline" as far as having surgery. They will evaluate me, and decide if it is a "go". Now, all that I can do is lay it on really thick about symptoms, (which is the truth).

I'll be damned if I am going all the way to Cleveland, only to come back with my old valve!!

i hear ya. especially since you are coming all the way from florida. so far i have good experiences with cleveland clinic. they have my surgery scheduled for two days just in case they can't do it on the 28th because of an emergency. i guess i should be thankful the doctors feel that my symptoms and condition are serious enough they want to get it taken care of as soon as possible. wouldn't want to wait and go any further downhill than what i am now. as it draws closer i am more anxious to get it over with so i can start feeling like myself again after a while. right now i don't know who this person is. i'm just getting through each day with the knowledge that after surgery i will feel better than i do now.

jax- It is interesting. On the first page of my instructions, it says that my surgery is scheduled for the 1st. On another paper, it says that it might be on the 30th, the 1st, or the 2nd.

The thing about C.C. is that they have such extensive facilities and staff, that they can see a patient on a moment's notice. When I first called, the operator asked me if I wanted an appointment for the next day. Now THAT'S service. I can't get a next day appointment with any of the doctors down here.

jax- I will be thinking about you, and sending good vibes your way. In a short time it will be over, and you will be better than new!

Yes, I have had surgery scheduled (and cancelled) a couple of times with CC.
Always had three dates. I was told no date is guaranteed due to emergencies, etc.....but it will be one of the three. Incidently my first cance was due to a scheduling error (the surgeon was actually not in that week) And the second time I had bronchitis. My date (the first one ) was given to me as "tenative" in November for April....it was to be confirmed closer to the day....but slipped through to scheduling and the rest is history. I have been in Ohio since April first.....no wonder I had bronchitis and now have allergies!!!

ponytaila1a- I read your post this morning, went out, and all of a sudden it hit me. I did a double take and had to ask you. You are going to have your procedure on the 26th. Why have you been in Cleveland since April 1st? Was it because of the foul up in the scheduling?
