The initial surgery date was supposed to be August 2nd. But we wanted to investigate the PAVR (percutaneous aortic valve replacement) in Cleveland. So August 5th the patient went in for testing. I wasn't there and thought all the tests had been completed.
They have a long waiting list for this procedure (3+ months).
So the patient has gone to the hospital twice since leaving the Cleveland Clinic for fluid in lungs. The last time the patient was treated with high doses of Bumetanide.
Now they are back at home.
Any advice on how to proceed here?

I had a long wait for a traditional mitral valve repair at the Cleveland clinic but was flown up on an emergency basis and they fit me in as soon as one of the surgeons had a cancellation which was four days later. I think you should call the surgeon and find out what can be done.

Did they say if he/she is even a candidate for the TAVI trials? I definately would call CCF and find out IF they are a candidate or not and if so when can it be schedualled. IF they arent a candidate, then I guess I would schedual surgery. IF they are a candidate but the wait its long, I probably would check one of the other centers taking place with the trials and see how long it would take to have the procedure done there,
