ultane information : ultance , by itself, is not given..All the inhaled drugs are given in combination with other drugs to be effective.. This has to be taken in by a mask.. generally side effects like breathing trouble, unusual change in amount of urine, seizures, muscle stiffness, fast/irregular heartbeat, stomach/abdominal pain, fatigue are expected and it wears off as soon as the effect of the drug wears off.
All these anesthesia's have to be given under strict guidance and supervision of doctors.
There are other general anesthtics beside the most common. Some of the most common can trigger a rare muscle disease called Malignant Hyperthermia. I have had sinus, knee, and shoulder surgery all by other means due to MH. I have had nerve blocks, epidurals, and other inhalants to avoid the triggering agents. Soon I will have to have my mitral valve repaired or replaced and they will most likely use a inhalant that is different from what they normally use to avoid an MH episode.
