I came in and I had an email that Andrew's carepage had been updated. I thought something must have happened, but I'll let Wendy tell the story.

Guess what? Andrew's defribulator works!

We are back at Children's after he received a shock around 9 last night. We had to come in to have it intrerigated and see what was up. He never lost conscieness (sp?) He was standing next to his dad at church playing a little fooseball. He yelled ow! and grabbed his chest, then said I was just shocked.

Randy came upstairs to find me and of course I called the cardiologist on call at Children's. After he talked to me and Andrew he called back after a few minutes to tell us we needed to go in and have it interrigated at children's. Well as you probbably figgured out it was an appropriate shock. he only needed one and we have adjusted his medicine to try to avoid future incidents. I guess the good thing is it did what it was suppose to do and once more avoided his death possibly. His v tach was recorded as 280.

We even had a good night once we got a room at around 2 am. It was quiet and I didn't really wake too often and slept til almost 7 and Andrew even a little later. Randy left last night so he could go to his new job that he just started last week, this morning.

We are here for a bit but may be able to go home tonight or possibly not until tomorrow.

Just excited that God has spared my son once more. We are truely blessed. Thanks for your continued prayers.

heart hugs,
wendy

Children's is such a great hospital. We're very lucky to have such great medical care for kids there, and also the other great hospitals for us adults. Glad your son is doing ok.

Children really are a "blessing from the Lord." :)

Yep!

Yep!

We are back home now. Andrew is fine- none the worse from wear. mostly anyways. We got home around 9- 9:30 last night. It is good to be back.

We adjusted his medicine to hopefully keep this from happening again. He needed to get his second dose earlier in the day so we are doing this along with increasing the dose some.

Mary thanks for posting here for me.

Oh, as an added bonus to surviving the v-tach Andrew received tickets to the World series. :D Sorry Cub fans. I am so happy that my boys get this extra blessing. Just wish it were going to be a bit warmer.

Thanks again for the prayers and support.

Wendy,
With Andrew's experience, I realize how wonderful defibrillators are! Thank goodness we have technology that keeps kids and adults alive when events like this occur.
Enjoy the game; I'm so glad you're getting to go!
