Hi.

Just wondering if anyone has gone on any rollercoasters or anyother rides post op and if so how long did they leave it before they went on them ?

My brother is having his b-day at one, and if i don't ask the obvious i would prob risk it in a spur of the moment action.

cheers.

Todd

I had a hard time as far as my sternum did not feel good. But it depends on you. It might be too soon for you if you just had surgery. You are still tender in the sternum. I was eight months post-up and not completely healed. Went on one rollecoaster, small and did not have much fun. I will go again this year, more than three years post-op, will enjoy it better, had to skip last year. Good luck and have fun at your brother's birthday.

Yes. I've ridden the rough wooden coasters and the smooth metal ones. First time was 5 months post op. Nothin' like that cedar point coaster in Ross's link. It may not be smart to jostle the brain and subject it to "G" forces, but for me, it has not been a problem. My cardio laughed when I asked him about it because no one had ever asked him about that before. He also had never been asked about marathons either, but consented to both. :)
