Hi Kevin

WOW!!! You sure don't waste any time, do you????? Here's hoping you're recovering uneventfully from surgery. Rules are: rest, nap, breathe, over and over and over again.

Be well and be sure to keep us posted.

I'm Getting Out

I'm Getting Out

Hello All and thank you for all your prayers.
Here is the update:
I had surgery scheduled for that Thursday morning, it was suppossed to take 3.5 - 4 hours it took 7.5.
Dr. Loulmet says it was very difficult but he managed to repair the valve.
I woke up friday in ICU and spent all of Friday and half of saturday in ICU then it was off to Cardiac Care where I spent the next 5 days, I was all set to be released Wed. but I had a slight fever and they found some fluid in the chest, not enough to drain however.
So I spent Thursday in the hospital and now here it is Friday and I am being sent home. Still have a little fluid but nothing they think is dangerous.
I have to watch my temp daily and call if it goes up.
I don't feel great yet but I feel pretty good. I also have some PVC but I had those prior to the surgery, most I don't even notice. If I had known what they were before I would have had a worry free vacation(another story entirely)

I'll be posting more...

Kevin

Hi Kevin

Feeling pretty good for just coming out of the hospital after surgery is pretty darned good! So congrats are in order. You won't be feeling like your old self for a while, but each day will bring some improvement.

All of those little glitches that you mentioned are common with this surgery. Just watch areas that will clear up.

I'm happy for you that it's over with.

Congratulations and much continued success to you! I am 2 weeks post-op and feel improvement daily. Good luck!

Wow, Kevin you did it all in a hurry and now you are at home where the good restin spot is. Sounds like you are doing well so just keep it up and keep us posted. Congratulations for a quick trip up the old mountain to the good side. God bless

Hi Kevin,
Glad to hear you are home and recovering. It feels good to have the surgery behind you, doesn't it? Well, please keep us informed on how you are doing and I pray that you have an uneventful recovery.

Take Care!
Gail

You go, boy

You go, boy

Kevin - we're all so glad to hear you did well. I believe it's very seldom that one of us goes from "gee, I'm glad I found this site. Do you think I need to see a doctor?" to "well, here I am home from the hospital feeling pretty well" in 5 posts (4 days?). I'm sure you're the envy of many who've been waiting for surgery for a long time.

Settle back in that recliner and do your breathing exercises RELIGIOUSLY. Set the timer if necessary. And take your pain meds as scheduled; don't wait until it hurts.

Congratulations on being home; it sure feels good, doesn't it?
