Had my check up today. Looking and sounding good. Next echo will be in November.

If all looks stable my cardioligist if placing me on the 2 year plan! Sounds kind of scary:confused: Anyone else on the same plan?

Hey Gina that's great!
And I remember that 4-1/2 years ago.
I'm still on the one year plan, just received my echo results yesterday and he says everything still looks good.
That really takes a load off your mind.
If he told you two years than he must be very confident that you are doing really well.
Congratulations!:D

Hey Gina, congratulations on your checkup. And Rich also. The 21st of this month will be 2 months. So I have a lot to look forward to.

Thank you Dave,
Hope you are doing well.
Yes you have a lot to look forward to and it just gets better and better.
The 21st being the longest day of the year will give you a chance for a really great celebration.

How exciting

How exciting

Congratulations Gina! I know it's a little scarey to be "cut loose" (I felt that way when I had cancer); and then all of a sudden you realize that you feel like you did before you got sick - like other folks who don't think about this stuff a lot. It's great, and you deserve it.

hi gina!
that's great news! i'm so glad to hear you are doing really well and that your doc trusts that you will be fine "on your own" for now. so happy for you; you must be thrilled.
stay well, sylvia

Hi Gina-

Congratulations on the wonderful news. Every good milestone is so welcome. You must be doing something right.

Hey Gina!

You must be doing something right. I also suspect you're being watched. . .

Enjoy the anniversary and the new freedom you've been granted. You have earned it!

Gina,
That's great! I'm still on the"Pay Through The Nose Every Year" plan with my cardio.....Every two years is the utmost in confidence from your doc! Congratulations and keep up the plan!

Congrats Gina

Congrats Gina

I have yet to reach my two years, but on the last six-month check. my heart muscle is stronger. I developed CHF before bypass surgery. You are doing so well, I hope to eventually get to one day be going just once a year. Keep doing the right things. Take care.

Congrats Gina! Good news!

Congrats Gina! Good news!

I had my one year echo on the 11th and met with a new cardio on the 18th. He told me everything was perfect, and I didn't have to come back for 2-3 years! (Which is probably different than most of you because I had a mitral repair, not a replacement), and am no longer on any medication or anything.

I wasn't real wild about this guy either though. I told him I was still really tired etc, and all he wanted to talk about was diet and exercise yadda yadda yadda...
Like tell me something I don't know!! I told him I didn't come here to talk about diet and exercise, I wanted to find out if my heart is working right. geez!!

I also told him I felt like I sometimes had an irregular heartbeat in the mornings before getting out of bed, he basically poo-pooed anything I had to say, and said something like, maybe it was acid reflux or some ridiculous thing!

There used to be two excellent cards at this clinic, that I really liked, but they both left. I went to another guy last fall for a 3 month check, didn't like him, so thought I'd try this guy, he was just as bad!

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I didn't want to hear good news, but if I think I'm having heart-related symptoms, and he's ignoring me, what kind of a cardiologist is that??

Hi Jean,

Great news for you as well! Congratulations.

I do understand your level of discomfort. Pushing off after such a major ordeal. It may have something to do with having your female issues taken care of so close to that time.

Took me 11 months to feel up to par after my MVR. Hysterectomy ranks up there as far as snaping back and regaining your energy. You had both procedures in a matter of 6 months if I recall? Dragging my heals on female issues/surgery. If my labs are normal next month I may just forget about it and deal with it. It's so hard. Much pain.

One suggestion I can offfer is that your cardioligist performs an echo as part of his plan to let you go 2-3 years. Did he do so? If not, I would demand it. You can't tell everything from just listening.

I will be cut loose in six months if no changes in the next echo are noted.

Again Jean, wonderful news. Hang in there. You will wake up one day and feel great. Never thought it would happen.....but it did!

Take care.

Hi GIna,

Hey... Great news on your checkup!! Congrats to you.

I had my 3 year checkup with my vascular surgeon, and he said everything looked great and mentioned the 2 year plan. I told him I would prefer to stay on the annual checkups. I just know that I would be worrying throughout the whole second year. I mean, I even worry as the time draws near for the one year exam.

He agreed, and besides, insurance covers it.

Guess the message is, It's wonderful that he wants to put you on a two year program, but manage your health as you feel would be best for your comfort zone.

Wishing you many many more years of great results!

Rob

Mr Rob,

How are you?!!!

Hanging in there over in Nashville. Was wondering if you were up for a transfer? You had mentioned something about your office closing. That would be a shame. Boy do I ever envy you. We love being home here in Chicago. But...... we hope to be out of here in 4 years. Nashville is on the top of the list. Austin is a close second. All depends on business and finances.

Found myself looking at homes in Brentwood:D online. Just wishing. Really a beautiful city! We miss TN:(

Hope to see you both in October!

Congratulations!

Congratulations!

Congratulations, Gina! :) I'm so happy for you. I'm still on the four month plan with an annual echo. :( But like Rob said.... I like hearing the Cardio tell me all is well now and then. Ryan sees him annually with an echo.
