Hi Bob....sounds like you are ready to go. I wish you the best. Keep us posted and if possible have someone let us know when you are over the mountain.

Good news about the arteries, Robert! Not sure of your age- is it 62 as in your signature? The Edwards bovine valves have new anti- calcification treatments and hopes are that they should last 20 years or more. Who knows what methods for valve replacement will be used at that time- hopefully non-invasive!

Hi Bob -

Welcome to the site; glad you found it.

Here's their site www.edwards.com if that's helpful to you.

One thing I read here early on, that made sense to me, was a suggestion to find a really excellent and highly recommended surgeon, explain your preferences to him, and see what kind of valve he would recommend for you.

Is your aortic valve bicuspid? Many/most bicuspids have very clear arteries. If that is your diagnosis, you might like to look at this site also: www.bicuspidfoundation.com

Take care and post again.

Hello Bob,

Edwards lifescience bovine tissue valve....I just got one 4 weeks ago and am 48 years old. I'm very happy with my decision and if you trust your surgeon, that will help you make the best decision.

All the best to you for a successful surgery and uneventful recovery,

Betsy
