YUCK

YUCK

I don't think so! I knew there was a reason I haven't flown in 15 years and now I don't plan on starting.

I do agree with the premise but not that graphic.

I saw that on the web news. I was wondering if anyone was at all concerned by the x-ray exposure to the people who go through these machines.

I am old enough to remember that fluoroscopes were used with abandon in shoe departments to x-ray the feet to see if the shoes people were trying on, fit their feet, Years later it was discovered that this was a very harmful practice not only for the people who it was used on, but the people who were working the machines. The machines were not monitored for safety and emitted much more radiation than anyone thought, if indeed anyone even thought about it. They have been totally banned now.

It really scares me to think that this was even considered, strictly from a health point of view.

I don't understand how it got this far without someone mentioning the dangers, especially those in the healthcare field.

And Now....This....

And Now....This....

I fly a lot on business and this is just another example of the airlines and the government trying to pacify the infrequent traveler by creating the illusion that "tough" security measures are in place in hopes of increasing revenue. Having been asked on many occasions to step behind the curtain to be "crotch patted" by some functional illiterate with rubber gloves, I guess I'll just have to start checking what remains of my dignity with my baggage.....
I think I'll start requesting the corporate jet to avoid flying commercial.
(yeah...right...like that's going to happen!)

This topic fits into one that was being discussed recently on TV - that of legislation/litagation vs common sense. We in the US are getting very good at trying to rely on legislation/litigation and getting very poor at using common sense. One example used was the person who claimed they got fat because McDonald's has large portions and filed suit. Will it ever end ????? Chris
