Especially that you are already going in for an aneurysm repair I'd say that the most common reason for replacing a redo operation with a mechanical valve is either aneurysm or panus formation. I do not know, but I could (probably should) dig around and see what the incidence of panus is on modern mechanical valves.

so especially when discussing valve choice with younger patients I usually always mention Aneurysm risk, Pannus risk and BAV .

I have noted before you seldom read my posts carefully (understandable because few are directed towards you).

Was there something in particular which you felt somehow suddenly was "out of character"?
