Beautiful picture...If that was my age 14 year old spoiled Grandson..he would be saying..Oh, if I only had an ATV (4-wheeler):D ...Never been to Monument Valley...is the black in the picture a lake?......We only live 2 hours from Cherokee, N.C....and we have to pass thru the main street to get outside to one of our favorite R.V. campgrounds.....the Cherokee nation still has the rights to town..but now..it has the large Harrah's casino..and the main street has all the cheap indian stores...mostly Indian looking things..but made in China:eek: during the peak season..you will see the men dressed in the cherokee outfits and will charge for a picture, ect...A beautiful river runs thru the town..but littered, ect.We have to slow down for the school. Have noticed the kids dress like any other kids in the South..but also notice the many shacks, ect. that they must still live in..I'm thinking their family only makes enough money during the tourist season..We have camped there in the winter. Dead town.............other than the Casino(they have their own high rise hotel)this town is probably only 10 miles x ten miles..they (N.C)) has put a bypass around the town to the Smokey mountains and Tennessee.About a 30 mile beautiful mountain drive...No tourist traps..Into These hills..a play that has been put on for many years is their biggest draw..about the Cherokees being driven out in the 1800's to Ok..Performed every night in an outdoor rock seat arena..they even charge for a pillow..so point trying to make..glad to see somewhere else..that the American Indians still live where their ancestors did..and not in a tourist town... Bonnie

No Lake

No Lake

No lakes, no puddles. Really, an ATV (and I have one for snow plowing, wood hauling & as a poor man's convertible) would seem totally out of place. To their credit, even the tourists drive slowly, showing real respect for the area.
