Freddie--you are so right. For some reason I have never seen the hit show, American Idol, but the premise-that a lot of people are walking around with unbelievable talent-is something I have always believed in. And, in this case, talent is popping in not just from America, but all over the world.

My fondest hope, when all is said and done, is to create a small tool so that the wisdom (hard earned wisdom) of people from this site might help others through their personal grieving process. When I get back to New Mexico-and get by whatever small emergencies may have popped up with with the school board, and/or water board-I intend to make a sample card available to everyone who has contributed suggestions or comments to this little thread. In other words, everyone who has posted on the thread.

For sometime I haven't been able to connect with the forum when I am home in New Mexico. (I am at our son's place in Minnesota till tomorrow morning). Our son may have fixed the problem, but I won't know till I get back. However, to be sure I can get your card to you, I will need your physical address. Private Messages come through to me by email, even when I can't get on this forum. So--to send me your address, feel free to send it by PM if you don't have my email address already. I know I have sent things to some of you in the past, but just in case I can't locate the address you already sent me, I would encourage those who wish to to send it again. And I will have my fingers crossed, hoping our son's solution gets me on from New Mexico.

I wonder if the reason you can't connect Dennis is because of your location. I'm not sure what the elevation is in the Jemez where you live but I'm guessing that it's pretty high up in the mountains, correct?

When we went to Big Lake in AZ, I had my laptop with me & I could NEVER connect from the campground (9200') where we were camped. Always had to wait until we reached lower elevations to get service. Cell phones the same.

I will PM my address to you. And thank you in advance! :)

Thanks for the suggestions, Norma. Here is the big mystery---I can connect with every other site I have ever surfed to, except this one (which is obviously very important to me). Our son, who is (honestly) the smartest person I have ever known, thinks he MIGHT have the answer, but it can't be tested until I am back on the mountain. I have been disappointed many times already, and don't have my hopes up all that much--but I will definitely giive it a try when I get home.

I know it's too long, but what about:

"Light shines so much brighter when surrounded by darkness."

"Even when things seem the darkest, there's always a ray of hope."

"Rock of Ages cleft for you."

"Even the brightest days start with but a glint of sunshine."

As requested from Dennis:

I continue to have trouble connecting with the heart valve forum when I am at my house. When I was in Minnesota, my son took a crack at solving the problem, but there was no way to test the solution until I got back to New Mexico. He created some kind of special bookmark that was only numbers, and thought that would work. When I got back to New Mexico, I was thrilled to see that it instantly opened up the opening page of the forum--I had not been able to do that before. HOWEVER, I can't get anyplace beyond that opening page.

Besides everything else, I need access to that thread to finish off the contest. I hope to get that done tomorrow, if things go as planned. In the meantime, the contest is closed out as of 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, January 7th. (I hope to be in some place that will give me access through my lap top, and intend to announce a decision around that time). If you offered a suggestion, or even made some comment, I would like to send you a sample card. Remember, a sample card requires a physical address. In case I never had your address, or had it and lost it (my wife would confirm that as a real possibility), you will need to send me yours to be on the safe side. At this time I can't send any of you a PM, but when you send a PM to me, I can read it because the forum delivers a copy to me through email. If you send me that information by PM, I am assuming that minimizes the chance of getting unwanted emails.

Today I am at a coffee shop, and able to access the forum. I have downloaded the different responses, and hope to incorporate something from a couple of the entries--this will be on the cards I am sending in the mail.

NOW--I want to send a card to everyone who posted on the thread. This holds true whether you posted a proposed suggestion, or simply dropped in and made a comment. But to do that, I need an actual name and physical address. If you are one of the following people, I won't be able to send a card until I get an actual name & physical address. These are the people for whom I need that information:

Bina (Sorry Bina-I know I have your address somewhere, but I changed computers recently).

Lovejoy
Lionheart
ShezaGirlie
Cort
henyslee (Ann)
Wise
PairoDocs
netmiff
Mainframe

So where are the cards:

So where are the cards:

I am sorry for the delay. First, I spent a lot of time trying to come up with the best caption. You will see that the final product combines contributions from a few different people. Second, I had the chance to go to Monument Valley (the view hotel), and joyfully dropped everything to make the trip. Finally, I am having a little problem with my printer. To do the cards correctly requires very precise placement on the card. I am getting some very slight traces of color in a place I don't want it. Last night I may have figured out a solution to the problem. I will be back in Jemez Springs on Monday, and will try to get the cards out on Tuesday.
