Extraordinary!
I had an email from my alumni association at St. Mary's University in Winona, and at least eight faculty members have lost their homes. They specifically mentioned the towns of Goodview, Minnesota City, Stockton, Houston, Hokah, and Rushford as being among the hardest hit.
It's hard to imagine that it was all caused by heavy rain . . .

Indeed.
And, we in the Chicago area got a taste of it today. Two waves within a couple of hours of each other. I got home just as the 2nd wave was hitting Elgin ... our home was surrounded at least 3/4 by water. It was not fun. More heavy rain expected tomorrow, too.....
