I just wanted to tell you guys something that happened to me that was such a blessing. I belong to a quilters club at our church. We make quilts for people in our church who have gone through surgery, are sick, or who have lost a loved one. I have gone to this church on and off for about 12 years but have just gotten really involved about a year after my last heart surgery four years ago. The other day one of the women called me and asked me to meet her in the church office after first service on Sun. I asked why and she said she wanted to extend an invitation to me. I was confused, why couldn't she do this on the phone, but I agreed to meet her. I was half expecting her to tell me I was doing the bindings wrong on the quilts but since I have already done many quilts I figured that couldn't be it. Well when I got to the office after church several of the women were there to present me with a gorgeous quilt. There is a heart in the corner with a scripture. At this point I was really confused and asked why I was getting this quilt. They said that it was because I have been through allot with my heart. I was rather stunned and did shed a tear or two because I figure I am doubly blessed. I am healthy right now and I have a new, very beautiful quilt made by women I admire and am proud to be part of their little group.

That's really wonderful of them Peggy. Your profile does make you sound like a modern medical miracle! I understand their admiration and desire to do something special for you. What a terrific group of ladies, you included, to be doing what you do!

Wow, Peggy, this story made me cry! How incredibly sweet! How wonderful to have friends who realize the trials you've been through with your surgeries. And to be able, in turn, to help others through similar situations with your quilting.....

They understood all the pain and recovery you went through to be where you are now. You are blessed a thousand fold to have friends like them to care so much to make a special quilt for you. Most people never understand the things a heart patient has to go through, mich less those who have had surgery and the struggle to be normal again. You have come a long way already. Be proud to have friends tlike these at your church. They prayed for your health and pray for you today. You take care and feel blessed the Lord has seen you through a rough time. He has something planned for you and all of us. Take care.
