The 16th was my 9th anniversary of a mitral valve replacement with a St Jude. I still sport a sternotic bicuspid aortic valve that may be a candidate for intervention at some point but so far it is "wait and see"

I was unlucky to have had rheumatic fever as a kid and that damaged my valves but I am happy popping warfarin, metoprolol and atorvastatin every day and hopefully that is all I have to do for the rest of my life.

Congratulations on 9 years.....and yep, you will probably be on warfarin for the duration, unless they develop an alternative and that will probably happen. Other pills will come and go.......that is one of the downsides to living to a "ripe ole age"......the upside is the valve that requires the warfarin will, most likely, get you to old age.;)
