Had surgery monday the twenty second, was pushing for release thursday the 25th. My only complaint was shortness of breath, other than that I felt ready to escape, they took me to x ray just prior to setting me free and discovered my right lung was mostly collapsed, likely caused by a nick during surgery Im told. I had a pigtail drain tube installed in my chest cavity to drain air and blood into a little portable breifcase like recepticle I could carry around with me but I still felt short of breath and pain in my chest cavity. This morning the draining stopped and the tube was removed and I felt 100% better instantly, so I was released late this afternoon.
For my first surgery of any kind I didnt know what to expect. It my be awhile before I can objectively evaluate my experience, Im just happy to be alive at this point
Thanks again for all the wisdom and support, It made this jouney easier knowing others had gone before me.
