For what it's worth, after my surgery at Stanford I had the opposite problem. Dr. Miller told me he had a hard time getting ahold of my cardiologist in Seattle. He tried multiple times. Stanford has always been extremely responsive in any request we have made and I would say that my case was the definition of "didn't go as well as expected".
