I'm glad to hear everything went well for Gordie. Tell him to hang in there and make sure he gets better soon so that he himself can be doing his own postings in a very short time.

He may still have some exciting stuff to go through, but hopefully not. From here, it's recovery. There are lots of threads about weird and scary things that happen during recovery, most of which turn out to be nothing much. However, it's good to look, so that you can be aware of things that might happen. Forewarned is forearmed.

Also, when something unusual happens, seeing it in other people's threads can take some of the stress (and outright panic) out of things.

You will do great. I went last year over the July 4th holiday for my AVR and benefited from lots of good attention from the staff. Not many patients scheduled for the holiday weekend. By Monday, when I checked out, the hospital was filling up.
