Now have my own Coagucheck XS

I don't recall mentionning anything about diabetic needles? If I did, sorry for the confusion.

Now have my own Coagucheck XS

catwoman: I looked and cannot see what size the lancets are, they are a yellowish color. On the bag it's marked Softclix Lancet 20. I guess that would mean 20mm? The last time I tried, the device was at 5, max is 5.5. I did wash my hands but did not hold it under the water to warm it, I...

Now have my own Coagucheck XS

Finally:biggrin2:.... I'm having a problem getting a good blood sample. Spoiled a few strips:frown2:, my fault. I didn't have to use them if I didn't think the drop was big enough, silly me. I've got my lancet device up to 5. They say not to pinch the finger, only to massage it. I had my...

    Coagucheck home testing

Uh oh, did I open a can of worms?? First of all, thank you all for your important input. On another note, I did notice that the dosing chart that catwoman posted makes more sense in one way because it does not repeat the minimum and maximum values, eg: 2.0-3.0, 3.1-3.9, etc vs 2.0-3.0...

    Coagucheck home testing

My unit is ordered. BTW, I spoke to Roche on tuesday and they told me they're still selling their XS for $499.00 Can't say from what pharmacy I ordered from but it wasn't local and the price is $459.00. My daughter order it for me, she lives in the city. The pharmacist told her that it was...

    INR range 2.0-4.0?

Met with this person again today and told me that the range is not 2.0-4.0, it's 2.0-3.0. Sorry for the confusion.

    Coagucheck home testing

Some info from my local pharmacy. I'd like to know first of all if some of you had to pay more than $500.00 for your XS unit? Did your pharmacy charge extra for ordering and selling you the unit? My local pharmacy made me a price higher than the $500.00 that Roche charges and I told them this...

    INR range 2.0-4.0?

Have to agree, it all boils down to percentages and the body's response to the dosing from what I'm learning.

    INR range 2.0-4.0?

I guess what I was really wondering is how the dosage is controlled to keep within that broad range? I've been reading mostly about dosing charts in the 1.0 spans, not 2.0 spans. Is there a dosing chart to control 2.0-4.0?

    Wish me luck

You'll feel so much better after the healing process. Believe it or not but I felt better three days after the surgery.

    Coagucheck home testing

I`m having the manager of our pharmacy contact Roche to set up the purchase. My doc already told me she would write the prescription. And I`ve already volunteered my wife;) to be the 1.0 INR guinea pig:thumbup: if ever need be to help crosscheck a non coumadin user. I`m such a nice person, lol.

    INR range 2.0-4.0?

Came across a fellow coumadin user and avr recipient in my town, the same type valve, the same hospital as me, etc. I was curious to find out what range they had set. The person told me 2.0-4.0. I didn`t say anything for fear to worry the person but is this range a bit wide:confused2:? Not...

quote "As long as the meter's quality control works, and reports no QC problems, I would expect the results from any of the meters I've mentioned to be within .2 or .3 of a blood draw. As long as you're in the middle of your target range, there's probably not much cause for concern. " This is...

    Depression after OHS?

Here's a little story. My second night in ICU I saw and spoke to my daughter and wife at around 22:00, my surgery had been at 16:30 the previous day. At around midnight, the staff shift change came in and I could see through the curtains a couple of young nurses, they were talking loud and...

    Carpel Tunnel Syndrome surgery soon?

The medical world is not easy, ever so changing and for the better I think we can say. Doctors heads would spin if they had to keep up to every minor technological change, they wouldn't get any work done. And often there's more than way to get the same result, I have to keep that in mind.
