    here we go again!

Well here I am back in the pre surgery part of the discussion boards. I had my annual echo done, and they said the regurge is off the charts on both my mitral and my aortic valves. I have to have them both replaced. The problem is, last time I was in Washington and had excellent doctors, and...

    Captain Phil

By the way, Mainframe, what happened to your 1st AVR? It was the same kind as my Mitral valve, a carpentier Edwards bovine...Mine's still going( although my cardiologist here is not a good one, one reason I can't wait to go to washington) my card here in Hawaii says another 5 years, Dr. Stewart...

    Captain Phil

yeah, he smoked like a chimney, they say that is what caused him to have his pulmonary embolism 2 years ago, which kinda led up to his stroke and his death. He lived really close to you too! I can't wait to move back to Washington! Just over 3 years to go!

    Captain Phil

Wow, I am surprised no one has mentioned Captain Phil. He died of similar issues to what we have...well at least some of them. I am a big fan of deadliest catch. This whole season has been leading up to his death. He had a major stroke on January 29th in St. Paul Harbor, and died on February...

How to prepare a house for homecoming patient

Ross is right, my doctors told me NOT to be dropped off at the door, he wanted me to walk all the time! I now walk over 4 miles at least once a day, I go to school, and I park in the farthest spot away from my class as I can(yes the farthest away!). I haven't been on much because at the moment...

    got the coolest new computer!

I used to have pc's, but every time we bought a new one, it would break, so we decided to try out a mac, and we are SOLD! The mac is so much easier to use, faster, and more secure than our PC's.

    Billy Mays

They had Billy Mays tribute last night on the show Pitchmen. I thought it was very nicely done. He died suddenly on June 28th of heart disease. He left behind a son in his 20's, and a 3 year old daughter. For those of you who don't know who he was, he was the one who pitched oxy clean. I...

I thought I would let you guys know that our long transitional period is done...finally! We had our pack out January 27th, stayed in a hotel until we got to leave washington, then we went to Minnesota in Feb....it was SO cold there! We were there for a month, so the kids were enrolled in...

    Trending toward tissue?

I am 31 years old and had my MV replaced with this kind of valve and totally regret it. Why? Because even though I was told that I would not have to take coumadin with a Bovine mitral valve, I have been taking coumadin for the last 6 years. I have had my valve for 8 years and my cardiologist...

    Current state of the economy

I actually blame the people for taking out these home loans, and then not paying them. come on, if you are responsible enough to sign the papers and move into a house, PAY THE MORTGAGE! I had one of those 0 down loans, I paid my mortgage every month, no matter how much it sucked. I hate to...

I feel for you, Ross! Kevin was on Embrel for his psoriasis, he said it hurt to shoot himself...not to mention that the idiot doc onboard the ship didn't know that embrel could give you a serious lung infection, he wasn't told to go off of it until it was too late. Now he has athsma because he...

    Current state of the economy

I just think it is funny that when Clinton was in the white house, we had a SURPLUS, now in the last 8 years, we have trillions of dollars in a deficit. The war is one thing, speaking personally as a miilitary wife, sister, and friend of those who have been there, done that, we need to pull out...
