    Staying the Course -- 07/01/2018

Thanks, Anne! Temps have gone down a little in my part of the world. But my exercising is indoors so that's not an issue for me. My dance instructor added a third class to her schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays. I've been attending on Thursdays only because of my work schedule and 4:30 a.m...

    Bisoprolol. Any fellow takers/sufferers ?

Like epstns, I was prescribed Metroprolol 50 mg/day. I didn't like how I felt...just sort of out of it. So I called my cardio after a week or so and he said I could reduce it to one 25 mg tablet a day. I felt much better afterward.

Re-op has anyone home from mech to tissue

So sorry you are still dealing with all this, Harriet. Please keep up posted. I hope you get answers at your doctor visit. Hugs, Michele

    Help!!!

Wow! What an ordeal! I'm glad the immediate issue was resolved and that you are seeing another cardio. I can't give you an opinion on the aneurysm but others here will give you feedback. The reading done last week could be incorrect. Try to relax (I say "try" because I also suffer from anxiety...

In shock – 12 great years later -- UPDATE

Thanks for the update. I'm glad you are happy with your decision. You are so right...it is a very personal decision and the valvers on this site helped me make mine almost three years ago. I wish you the best in your surgery and recovery and look forward to seeing you on the other side. Hugs...

Wow SB!!! What a treat for you! I’m not a sports fan but I can appreciate your experience. Happy for you. Anne, 84F is a relatively cool day in H-Town. Nearly every day in May our temps were over 100F with the heat index. Temps in the 90s with a bit more from the humidity. The latter is what...

Social and emotional effects of surgery

Carnelian, I don't understand the numbers, either, and I haven't bothered to learn more about gradients and such, even though I'm logical and detail-oriented. Just tell me the bottom line....are things improving or getting worse and how quickly! :) As far as abbreviations go, I am a technical...

Hi Bob and Steve! epstns, will you be able to share that video post-production? I'd like to see it, as I'm sure others would. I attended a lunch and learn at work yesterday sponsored by the young owner of a local fitness center. I was impressed with his presentation skills but moreso with his...

Hi, everyone! Late check-in for me. No special news to report. Oh, one thing....I went to Aldi's last weekend and though they had my favorite apple pie on the shelf, I did not buy one. Good for me :)

I agree with Superman that the woman may be trying to start a dog-walking business. But no matter what her intention, she certainly was rude confronting you in that manner. I hope you trashed her number. Not much to report on this end. I'm stuck at 153.2 again, despite taking a water pill...

Seeking help of duration of mitral valve replacement recovery

I felt the same way during my recovery. Others were posting about all the "normal" things they had resumed doing, and I was still tired, weak, months after my Sept. 2015 surgery. When I posted about it (as you have done), readers rushed to assure me that I could not measure my progress against...

Hello all, I enjoyed this week's posts. We've got some busy people on this thread, but I ain't one of 'em. General running around on Friday, grandson's HS graduation on Saturday with a 1:00 am bedtime, neighborhood electrical problems on Sunday (long story) with a midnight bedtime, and lazy...

    1 yr Anniversary

Congratulations on your successes! I have the same impression about how much time has passed since my 09/16 surgery. I seem to have forgotten the pain as well.

    Staying the Course -- 05/21/18

Welcome to the week, all! Got on the scale this morning and was down a pound. Very happy about that after being plateaued (sp?) for two weeks. Sadness in our community this weekend following the mass murder at Santa Fe HS. My granddaughter attends Dickinson HS and the schools are rivals. Way...

When did you start to feel good again?

Gosh, it was such a gradual process that I can’t pinpoint exactly when I felt better but it was months, even though I returned to work after 8 weeks. I was 61 when I had my surgery and had a passive lifestyle so those were contributing factors.

Agian , sorry to hear about your lipidologist. Is it operable/ treatable do you know?

    Staying the Course -- 05/14/18

Superbob , very sad reading your post. I agree with Anne that I view this thread as a place to share concerns other than weight loss. For example, when the news came about the Santa Fe HS shootings, I wanted to come here and share that this school is less than 20 miles from me and express my...
