    Hospital time again. :(

Just saw the urologist. I'm in much less pain this morning than yesterday, so he believes he's done the right thing. He thinks it's just an infection and wants to keep me on antibiotics, but will now switch me to oral instead of IV. In his opinion I can go home within 24 hours. However...

    More coumadin ignorance

Just as I suspected, I'm down to 1 this morning. At least this time the on call cardiologist came to me and asked what dose I thought I should get today. She wasn't the one that ordered the vit. K or skipping the dose (that was the ER doc and hospitalist), so I'm grateful that she's...

    Hospital time again. :(

Al, that's exactly what I think too. My cardiologist isn't on call this weekend, so they have the on call cardiologist dealing with me for now. I know that once my actual cardiologist is involved, she'll get things done. Just my luck to go in on the weekend. :p I woke up this morning to...

    Hospital time again. :(

I'm back in the hospital. But not for my heart this time. Apparently I have a blocked ureter (the tube between the kidney and the bladder). They can't figure out what's blocking it though, because the ct scan didn't show any stones. They mentioned a possibility of a blood clot, but that...

    More coumadin ignorance

 I know it's been awhile since I've stopped by, but try keeping up with 6 month old twins and a dozen message boards and see how you do. ;) I've got some twinless time on my hands (explanation to come), so I thought I'd jump on and see what's been going on. But first I have to...

    computers & pacemakers

How odd. I've had a pacer and/or ICD for 26 years and spend a lot of time on computers, but have never had any of the issues you're dealing with. I hope you find the answer! I don't know that I could survive without my computer time every day!

    Shirley, Gnusgal (33)

Thanks. :) Both my babies gave me "presents" this morning... I'm not sure they realize that poopy diapers is not what I had on my wish list.

My favorite twins, Joleena & Ezra

Very cute! (Though I have to go with the pair in my avatar for "cutest" or I might get punished with multiple night wakings and dirty diapers. ;) )

    Last meal?

I've never been given any restrictions. Just "nothing to eat or drink after midnight." Doesn't seem to matter what I eat, I'm always STARVING while I wait for them to take me back. Good luck!!!

    Cooker’s ThrowDown Friday III ... 10-9-09

I'm looking for low-cal, low-sodium recipes to make this week now that Nathan's home from the hospital. I'm uninspired thus far. Any suggestions? Of course, this is presuming I can find a way to grocery shop with twins in tow, since Nathan can't pick them up right now.

    Retirement?

Personally, I think that a moderator needs to be involved in the community he/she serves. It helps them serve better. Ross, I would make a terrible moderator. I know this. I hate confrontation (I know you do too) and would have a hard time laying down the law. In the scenario you presented...

    Cooker’s ThrowDown Friday III ... 10-2-09

I am up 2 lbs. :( But DH is OFF that stinking low residue diet, so veggies are back on the menu!!! Woohoo!!!! Also, we talked last night about the need to reduce our portions (not to mention how much we make) and start working towards being healthier so we can be here to watch our kids grow...

    Joleena and Ezra have arrived

Congratulations!!!!! Your son and his wife will be very grateful to have you there to help. We were stubborn and did the nights alone. Hopefully they are smarter than us. ;) Enjoy those precious babies!!!!

Side effects of hubby's GI issues

LOL. I've never heard of someone sneaking salads in the middle of the night. LOL.

Side effects of hubby's GI issues

I hope not! It's really annoying. I want a salad (without feeling guilty for eating it in front of Nathan)!

Side effects of hubby's GI issues

westie- my husband doesn't take coumadin. I do. So no, his GI bleed had nothing to do with his INR. Ross- Yes, I do think we have twin black clouds. But I think yours might be the "evil" twin. ;) Marsha- the bad thing is, Nathan loves his veggies and I feel guilty eating them when he...

Side effects of hubby's GI issues

My husband landed himself in the hospital at the beginning of the month with a GI bleed. The EGD showed he had ulcers and esophogitis. The GI doctor put him on a "low residue" diet (sort of low fiber, but even more restrictive than that). Veggies are pretty much out, unless they are cooked to...
