    Did ya miss me?

Thanks, all. It's good to see familiar "faces." I hope to get to know the newbies. Lots of "faces" I don't recognize.

    Did ya miss me?

Oh, no worries about getting lots of pictures! LOL We've got over 600 for just this month! Of course, that could be because we had their birthday, party, and started "Scribbles and Dribbles" this month. So lots of picture taking opportunities. But even on "boring" days we try to get a few...

    My nephew and fading troubles

Aw, Cort. It's great to read the love you have for your nephew. :D Now when are you going to come down to Texas and corrupt my two? ;)

    Fainting... causes ?

I agree with all of the above. Fainting is not something that should be dismissed. If your GP won't listen, find a new one. I also think you should talk to your cardiologist. Either a 24 hour heart monitor or a stress test may be in order.

    Happy Birthday bvdr and Stephanie38

Happy Birthday, you two! Hey, Stephanie, looks like we're both suffering the heat! I'm in DFW too! :D

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday III --- 6-18

Hmmm... I may need to pull out our Wii Fit. Wonder how the kids would react to that. ;) Thanks, Wise. Good to be back.

    Having a beer?

Does alcohol effect the same part of the blood as INR tests? You know, like how lovenox doesn't change your INR because it acts on a different part. So even if your INR stays the same, it might still be effecting your coagulation rate? That being said, I still drink occasionally (in...

    Did ya miss me?

I realized it's been WAY too long since I last logged in (heavens, the forum even has a new look!). Life's been super busy chasing down the twins, who are completely mobile now. Believe it or not, we celebrated their first birthday two weeks ago today. Time sure has flown. Heart-wise, no...

When did you tell your employer about your heart condition/surgery?

My heart has always and will always be an issue for me. With my first job, the principal already knew me from when I was a kid, so there was no "telling" involved. With my second teaching position, I didn't say anything until someone asked about my medic alert bracelet during inservice before...

Peach cobbler is the ONLY way to go. Mmmmm....

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday III --- 6-18

:redface2: I hope you all can forgive me for being gone for so long. I guess the "twinadoes" have kept me a bit preoccupied with other things. I mean, it's a good thing that I haven't been thinking about my heart so much lately, but no so good to let myself drift away from VR and all of you...

    No salt Dill Pickles

OMG, I LOOOOVE pickles. Pickles and olives are my salty weakness. I have managed to find reduced sodium green olives, but had yet to find low sodium pickles. I will have to check these out! Thanks, Nancy! You're a treasure trove of knowledge, as usual. :D

    Hospital time again. :(

I'm home now. Got out this afternoon and spent the rest of the day just being with my family. I missed them so much.

    More coumadin ignorance

I don't report to anyone. Every now and then a doc will ask what my INR is and I just give them a made up number off the top of my head to keep them satisfied.

Waiting for you to swing through Texas again... You can't corrupt the twins from afar, you know! ;)

    Christina G Winkelman 11/02/1946-12/15/2009

My prayers go out to Christina's family and to all of her VR friends. This is sad news indeed. :(

    Hospital time again. :(

Thanks everyone. I feel bad that I only pop on here when something bad is going on with me. :( You're all such wonderful support. (((hugs))) Thanks! Right now I get the impression I'll be going home tomorrow. Please pray that is what actually happens. I did get a surprise visit from the...

    More coumadin ignorance

They just brought me a lovenox shot. Since it's every 12 hours, that means I'll have to take my next one at 4 AM??? Could they not plan this a little better? These people suck. At least the hospitalist does seem to be willing to send me home on lovenox instead of keeping me until I'm back in...

    More coumadin ignorance

Now the only thing standing between me and the exit is this stupid INR issue. Which wouldn't have happened had I stayed home and dealt with it myself. :p
