    Cooker's Throwdown Friday III --- 6-25

Thought you guys might be interested in reading about this form of exercise. I just found out about it from a friend on FB (former high school classmate is opening a studio, I think). http://www.hoopnotica.com/

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday III --- 6-25

Wise, I think the only reason I haven't gained more is because the twins didn't let me slow down long enough to eat a full meal the first 7 months! LOL And now, I try to cook healthy for them, so it trickles down to me. Also, we really don't have the money to eat out. *shrug* I think the key...

    heat and humidity

I can't imagine working in that environment even if I didn't have a heart issue!

    Can anyone relate?

Here I was about to post my long list of meds and then I read Ross's. Should have known he'd top us all! I've been on meds for as long as I can remember, though. Been taking dig since I was 6 or 7, I think. The list keeps getting longer, sadly. Right now my meds consist of: Coumadin (2...

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday III --- 6-25

Stayed the same. *sigh* Earlier in the week I was down 2 lbs. But I ate Whataburger for lunch yesterday, so I guess I ruined it. Dang it. :frown2:

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday III --- 6-25

Wow, Rhena! There's no way I'd be able to sit at a table with chips/salsa or nachos without stuffing my face (those are, unfortunately, two of my weaknesses). I'm impressed! Though, as much as I love margaritas, I did not indulge in the $2 ones the other night because (sadly) they make my...

    Question about bathing and swimming.

I honestly don't remember. How sad is that. :rolleyes2:

    heat and humidity

Yes, I have a terrible time with this heat. There was actually ONE summer that I wasn't effected. It was two years ago. I attribute it to my bi-v ICD. But that September a lead broke and (three surgeries to fix it later) I haven't been the same since. :( It's really difficult, since I live...

    Valve turns 7!

Hey! My 8 year valvaversary is tomorrow! I didn't realize we had the same day. How cool is that?! Tell the St. Jude crowd "hi" from my valve. :wink2:

    Justin update

Thanks for the update, Lyn! It's always good to hear about other "heart kids" who are doing well (or as well as can be expected). :biggrin2:

Surgery date, July 19th,2010 Texas Childrens (hitting home now)....

Hi! I had my VR done at Texas Children's as well (I was 25 at the time). My surgeon was Dr. Charles Frasier. The hospital is fantastic. They really do a wonderful job of making it a place to get better, rather than a place to be sick. I also have a St. Jude's valve and have been taking...

    Did ya miss me?

Marsha, the babies are well, but I've got a sinus infection that won't go away. At least, I assume that's what it is. Haven't been to the doc. I know, I should probably go, but there just isn't really any time. I keep hoping it will resolve itself on its own. Cooker, :p Missed you.

    Almost one year out....AND

I completely understand about the swelling feet and legs the hotter it gets! I have this problem too (but I also have CHF). Makes me long to summer in the north or something. As for the ticking still driving you crazy, I had the same experience for a LONG time after surgery (I'm 8 years post...

(((hugs))) to you, Kathy. I know it can't be easy living with all the stress you have on you. Thank you for giving us an update. Your mom is lucky to have you.

    Something to think about

I blinked and missed the last year. Either that or I was just too tired. ;)

    ladies on your personal pj's

I generally just wear my own pj bottoms. Like Nancy said, the hospital gowns make it easier to change without disturbing IV lines. One thing I've always done is ask for a second gown that I put on backwards (ties in the front) as a robe. That way there aren't any gaps for people to peer into...
