Stopping Amiodarone treatment for AFIB after AV replacement

I was on amiodarone for a month. Saw the EP heart doc for checkup and he said no more. I was scared to death that I would have more trouble with heart rate - but no problems at all. Hope all goes well for you.

Maybe home testing will become commonplace

Picked up my warfarin refills at Walgreen's today. Included in my bag was an ad (printed like a coupon - but no discount!). It asks, "Want anticoagulation monitoring on your terms?" Then goes on to describe the CoaguChek XS and provides a phone number and website: www.testyourinr.com This seems...

describe your intake of greens and how important you think it is

My body is fairly sensitive to dietary Vit K. I take a multivitamin with 25 mcg Vit K AND a supplement of 100 mcg Vitamin K. I take them every day, without fail. This has helped me maintain a steady amount of Vit K and my warfarin dosage is adjusted to take this into account. The recommended...

    Relatively new to Coumadin/Warfarin

IMO I think I'd feel better with shots until you get your INR cranked up - the last thing you want is to wind up back in the hospital due to a clot. That said, it is normal for the INR to drop as you increase your activity. I'd like to see you tested again on Monday to see if you're trending...

    Vitamin K2 and Warfarin

This is one of my favorite subjects. I take a multivitamin with 25 mcg Vit K (1-not 2) AND a supplement of 100 mcg Vitamin K. I take them every day, without fail. This has helped me maintain a steady amount of Vit K and my warfarin dosage is adjusted to take this into account. The recommended...

    Amiodarone and Coughing

Yes, coughing can actually be a serious side effect of amiodarone. Glad you're off it - doctors seem to reach for that drug first, when it's supposed to be used as a last resort. I was on it for a month when the dr took me off cold turkey. No problems since.

    Eye Brow Waxing

Never heard of this before now. Looked it up - very interesting. How does it compare in discomfort to waxing or plucking?

Vanderbilt University and 'Blood Thinner' Dosing......

Very well said. After all, if mechanical valves were right for everyone, there wouldn't be tissue valves.
