Significant Difference between Lab and InRatio2 Meter

Since I don't own the INRatio model I can't comment on it, but I am quite sure that you should avoid using vein blood samples on the test strips. With my Coaguchek XS (using finger tip) results compared with my hospital blood Lab (using venous blood), the results are either exactly the same or...

    Return of the Skipped Beats

Good Luck with this. I have suffered for years since my surgery with PVC/PACs and SVT. If I don't heed them, they switch over to bigeminy. Really annoying. I take Bisoprolol morning and night, and a small dose of Metoprolol in late afternoon.

I am 9 Years Old Today

I already caught you on FB, but these things just aren't the same unless they are celebrated here on VR.org where we all met and grew to become friends. It is a pleasure to know you and celebrate with you :D

Worried about my mum, renal problems after Aortic Valve Replacement and bypass

My kidneys were a bit sluggish post op and I had the urinary catheter in for a bit longer. Same thing happened after my angiogram. Best wishes !

Fourteen stitches and didn't "bleed out"

****, hope you are feeling okay. That must have hurt like hell, but thanks for sharing your story. Any idea what your INR was ?

Very brief first post post-op from home

Anne, welcome to the other side ! Recovery can be slow and sometimes takes a small step back, but focus on one day at a time. Drink enough water or milk, and find some foods that you like. In the first couple of weeks I ate bran muffins in the morning, some egg sandwich at lunch, and...

    VR Poll

I don't really feel that Mitral valvers are "not represented enough on VR", it just seems that so many of us have a BAV, or connecting aorta issues that garner more attention. ALL valve replacement recipients are rock stars on this forum :D Also, when I mentioned "doing someone's homework", it...

When is it time to worry about hitting your head?

If it was me, I would call my doctor to discuss and check that the INR is in range. Good Luck.

    Coagucheck

Since you are from the UK it is just as easy to buy as in Canada. You will need the Coaguchek XS kit for around $500. Here we need a prescription from our doctor to be able to order it, and after that I picked up mine from a local pharmacy. The test strips I buy with an ongoing prescription, and...

    Final problem before surgery

In Montreal, Canada, I saw my surgeon twice before surgery and immediately afterwards. Since I stayed in for 16 days I saw him a few times for my INR readings. After that I went home and at the next post op visit it was my cardio that I saw. In between I was in contact with my general doc for...

    Question for the ladies please

You will be well covered, but after a few days with that gown being opened so often to check incision, pull wires, pull staples, etc. etc. you just won't care anymore. Large chested women (not me) will be encouraged to wear some kind of bra for support, but I was as free as a bird ;) Also, my...
