Those first few days post op are very rough, but it will get better. Take it slow. My hospital stay was 16 days to get my INR up and stable and my INR has never been any trouble in 8 years. Try to rest whenever you can---naps are good :D

You all have convinced me to try the gut meds again. I was on Zantac post op only briefly and it helped my stomach acid....after eating I cough a lot and digest very slowly. So, if it also helps my wacky heart rate there will be a double bonus. Great thread, very helpful :) Good Luck, Johnny !

Hello and welcome ! Sometimes the other valves will leak a bit to compensate for the stress on a really messed up valve. You may want to start a bit of preparation in your home. Freezing foods, arranging things in reach, etc. We have a thread on this kind of stuff.

Thanks, Lyn. Yes, i do have a seatbelt cover but i find them to be cumbersome and hot in summer. It's not like I go in the car that much anyway so I think a cute little stuffed animal toy will just do the trick :-)
