    Replacement in 2 weeks

After my On-X, my cardiologist, INR Clinic and myself decided on a 2.5 - 3.0 range. My cardiologist suggested 2 - 3 but the clinic kept me at 2, which I didn't like. My cardiologist talked with the clinic and my level was moved to 2.5 - 3. I'm not sure why my surgeon choose the On-X. But I'm...

    Anticoagulation Management After Bridging

It took me about 7 to 14 days after my colonoscopy w/ polyps removed to get to my range (2.5 to 3). The clinic started slowly upping my dose, I wasn't happy with their slowness. Once I got to a certain level I stopped the shots and we just worked on getting my levels up. It seemed like it took...

    Lovenox tips and tricks?

I’ve bridged one time. Giving the first 2 shots were hard but it was easier after that. I watched a few youtube videos. Here's the one I saved for the next time I need to bridge. There's bruising but it goes away. It wasn't bad at all. I ended up giving injections for 15 days, I think. My...

Need Help Choosing! 14 Questions For Those With Mechanical Valve + Warfarin

Great questions! At what age did you get your mechanical valve? 64 (turned 65 in the hospital) I initially wanted the TAVR and my heart team approved (they thought I was too young) but they wanted me to talk with another surgeon about a mechanical valve. Then left the decision to me. It took...

    Dizziness

I'm wearing a monitor right now for 30 days. Mine is taped on and I change it every 3/4 days. No incision for me and no phone app. I'll send in the monitor (1"x2") at the end of the period. You shouldn't have a problem with it falling off. BioTell Heart patch BioTel Heart

    Pretty well decided....I Think.

Welcome to the other side! I turned 65 on the day I was released from the hospital. This coming up Dec. 3rd will be 2 years post-op and I feel way better! The only symptoms I had were going up hills or a 2nd flight of stairs. I was walking 3 1/2 miles most days, along with yoga 3x a week. Now...

Mr V, So sorry to hear about your new little one that is coming in 2023. It must be super scary. Go with what the doctor said, it's not genetic. No use stressing about that now, sounds like there's a good plan in place for the little one! I can't imagine the roller-coaster of emotions you'll...

New member, two weeks out from AVR.

Welcome to the forum! I had my first Afib on my 3rd day Post-Op and they continued for the next 4 days although the intensity went way down from the first time. I was put on Amiodarone and metoprolol for 30 days. My week in the hospital, I had them daily but when I went home, I only had a few...

    AVR is done. Going home.

Glad you're home! I was given Fentanyl one time in ICU, after that only on Tylenol. I was being released on the 3rd day too but then I had an Afib that morning, which kept me in 4 extra days. It's awesome you're home!
