    New on the list

Agree with this, i do. Dont change what what aint broken. But i feel as the older generational ties erode with time, we will ultimately head this way.

Mechanical Valvers, how old is yours?

Results that are holding true to their design and purpose are encouraging.. the uncertainty of the valve and its durability was not in question as talking about the design and engineneering factors.. it was more the encouraging fact that people can have the mechanical Valve for so long with very...

Thanks @Luckyguy17 Yea most of it before i would conciously remember but the subconsious is another story. The wait is tough as for my symptoms are quiet strong. I know others do not get symptoms even with severe stenosis but for me its like my body is giving me warning signs so i am thankful...

Mechanical Valvers, how old is yours?

38 years on wafarin and with only 1 event.. sounds pretty good So you had to change the mechanical valve? Was that due to scar tissue formation? Aneurysm?

After my brief visit in hospital last week my surgical team looked over the discharge papers and report from the cardiac team and have decided to expedite my surgery. I am booked into the preadmission clinic this monday and from there i have a green light for surgery. It is usually 1 or 2...

Mechanical Valvers, how old is yours?

Thats amazing, 3 OHS in 10 days! Tough nut arnt ya. 🙂👍 Also for a mechanical to last 34 years which included you growing and including a pregnancy is a valve well done! So correct me if i am wrong, the main reason you would be considering changing the valve is due to it being not a right fit...

Mechanical Valvers, how old is yours?

Hi all, Thought it may be a cool idea to get a new thread dedicated to those with mechanical valves specifically and give some feedback on: How long you had the MV for (when)? Why did you get the MV (disease, congenital, emergency)? What is life on warfarin like? Ever had a "significant event"...

    Are you more religious?

Its Easter for us in Australia and I wanted to reflect my thoughts on Belief in God in the context of my personal journey. When i was 20 I did not have any faith or belief in God and was happy living life on my own terms. I believed that life is what you make it but as my own perspective was...

Thank you for sharing your journey. Reducing surgeries is a key factor and choice between the mechanical or alternatives.. to get a mechanical so young i find very interesting. Especially pregancy and wafarin as that can be very complex. For me I do not want to be 50 and due for more surgery...

Just want to ask about troponin? What are levels that are considered for a event to have occurred? Is Aortic Stenosis considered a cause to have a higher troponin level? Or is something happening and thats why the troponin is showing? Any clarity is appreciated.

The wait is hard... wish i could speed up the clock and have my surgery already... I was at work sitting in a meeting when i get chest pain that starts to radiate to my neck. Lasting a while with a few extra issues like SOB and i think... best to get it checked by the GP. I know my body pretty...
