Right after my surgery, my cardio thought I had a paravavular leak. My surgeon insists it’s impossible, and it’s just how my valve works (something about backwash). Perhaps just ask if that is a possibility? I have a st Jude valve conduit (valve connected with Dacron graft).

I have not, but are you on warfarin? If so, I assume you will be closely monitored, need to get off warfarin before surgery and perhaps put on heparin.

What sport? If she wants to be fully recovered to play a fall sport, then waiting until summer might not give her enough time to fully recuperate. If it’s a spring sport, you might want to wait until summer if you decide to have surgery, so she won’t miss school. If she is in high school...
