I have been here on and off since January 2006 when I had my open heart surgery. I had a message from this site and decided to check in. I just spent some time reading my old posts and reminiscing. This site and the members here saved my sanity.
I have not had any heart issues for a good while. My mitral valve repair is still holding. Considering I was 83 last June, I am doing good except for a couple of health issues.
I have poor circulation in my left leg. An ultrasound revealed a blockage. I have an appointment October15 to see a specialist.
I also had an MRI for my back. I have some sort of deterioration. I have to see another specialist for that too. But the good thing is that my mitral valve repair is still holding! 18 years!
Wishing a good day to everyone .

Hi Praline.

Thanks for dropping in to say hello. It is so nice to hear from members who go on to live normal lives after their valve procedure. It sounds like your mitral valve repair in 2006 has served you very well. It is encouraging to us young folks (at least young in the valve world- but don't tell my kids I'm young lol), to hear stories of people who do well into their 80s following their valve procedures. Well done!

Wishing you the best of luck in resolving your leg circulation and back issues.

Hi Praline,
Good day to you too! It was good to see your name pop up again. I hope you'll come back to let us know how you're doing with the more recent, non-cardiac issues. I hope you can get them resolved with minimal frustrations.
