And in shock. My mother passed away 6 hours ago of some sort of aortic valve-related event. I don’t know much at this point. I am out of town on a work trip and sitting a tarmac trying to get home. What I know so far is that her valve was stuck 100% open and they suspect a torn leaflet. She had a tissue valve replacement 6 1/2 years ago at age 66. It should not have failed this soon. She would have been 73 next month.

I’m so upset and just needed to tell someone so thank you for listening.

So sorry to hear this, Lisa. Sending condolences to you and your family.
Hoping your journey home is swift and not too stressful.

Really sad to read this Lisa2, our condolences to you and your family. If you obtain details regarding what happened, and feel up to it, please come back and share. This is important information to all of us valvers, especially bio valvers. Thanks and I hope your sorrow is short and good memories long.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom 3 weeks ago suddenly at age 70. The surgeries were a piece of cake compared to how difficult this has been. I hope you’re able to take the time you need to grieve and hopefully find some peace. Best wishes to you and your family.

No matter the cause of death, it is very painful wither you are there or not. That was your mother, and it hurts when their life is over. My mother died from complications from RA, for she suffered all her life. And at the end, she suffered from Leukemia, a side effect from RA. It attacks the red and white blood cells, but she was at peace at the time of death. So sorry for your loss. And I suggest going to a grief counselor to help you deal from her passing.

My heart goes out to you and yours.

I'm looking at a picture of my Mom on my desk at work and tearing up as I type this because I know the pain you're feeling. So sorry
