It happened Tuesday or Wednesday before my discharge from the hospital.

My sister-in-law Leonette pays me a visit at the hosp. After she goes for the night, I have a short conversation with my PCA. Went something like this.

PCA- How many children do you have?

Me- Two, both are angels in heaven.

PCA- Wasn't that your daughter in here earlier?

I'm 47, my wife Leonita turns 47 on Sept 18, Leonette turns 36 In October. LOL, I guess theoretically me and Leonita could have parented Leonette. With the one not so small problem, that my wife and I didn't meet till I was 27.

Leonette, who could still pass for someone in her early 20's, came to the USA from the Philippines on a work visa in 1999. She is a US citizen now. I'm sure Nanay(my mother-in-law) would be happy if Leonette finally married. To someone preferably Catholic too. I could say more but won't, for fear of feeling the wrath of the Filipina mafia.

BTW Leonette gets proofed almost always if she orders or buys alcohol. 36 passing for 21, I'd pass for 47 passing for 45

WilliamJE,

Just goes to show we can either unknowingly compliment someone or unintentionally embarrass them.

We often remember the difficult times in the hospital and seldom the funny stories such as yours.

In Nov of 1982, I was in ICU after major chest surgery to repair a deformity.
I female friend of mine who also was a nurse, came in to see me. I was very suprised to see her since the Naval hospital was very strict on allowing family members only into ICU. She was only there a couple of minutes but I sensed she need to leave in a hurry.

I found out a few minutes later why. She told the staff she was my sister (sister in the Lord). A couple of seconds later, my mother walked up behind her and said "Hi, I am Karl's mother." My friend was most embarrassed. I wanted to laugh after my mother told me what happened but I was in too much pain. I can laugh about it now :).

Several years ago my husband and I were visiting my Mom during one of her many hospital stays.
Mom was sharing a room with another senior lady.
My hubby left the room to get a coffee and the other senior lady starts up a little chit chat with me.
She asks me if I have many children....I reply that I have just one.
After a pause, she replies, "Yes he is very cute".
I'm wondering what she is thinking, so I ask her to describe him.
She says, "the cute boy with the baseball cap and long hair who came in with you."
OMG, she was describing my HUSBAND!!
(and he's only 2 1/2 yrs younger than me....)
