It will be one continuous freek out. I got the BIG informational packet this week with some of the appointment schedule highlighted in ORANGE as if I would ignore the instructions. It keeps getting more and more freaky for me too.

go ahead, its alright to freak out. Thats what this wonderful site it for. I think I missed something though- reason? Is it because you have a confirmed date? I went up and down like a roller coaster before the surgery date arrived. It started with a variety of freak outs, but luckily ended with a peaceful acceptance. Your support is here!

WILL YOU FREAKING OUT REALLY HELP THE SITUATION? THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO NOW IS NOT HAVE THE SURGERY! THAT IS NOT AN OPTION, AND YOU KNOW IT. I WAS ABOUT TO LEAVE WHILE WAITING FOR MY CATH (THE LADY IN THE NEXT BED SOUNDED LIKE SHE WAS DYING) BUT MY FAMILY WOULDN'T LET ME. TRUTH BE KNOWN, I'M GLAD I DIDN'T. I HAVE TO WAIT TILL JULY BUT I WANT TO GET BACK TO "NORMAL". ACTUALLY, I WANT TO KNOW NORMAL. I HAVE LIVED WITH A VALVE PROBLEM FOR A LONG TIME. FOUND OUT ABOUT IT 30 YEARS AGO AND HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT REALLY STARTED TO AFFECT ME. I HAVE COMPENSATED FOR A LONG TIME. HOW MUCH EASIER COULD TOE POLICE ACADEMY HAVE BEEN WITH A "NORMAL" VALVE? YOU WILL BE FINE! FREAK OUT ALL YOU WANT BUT ALSO LOOK FORWARD TO STARTING A NEW LIFE. OH YEA, COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF ADULT BEVERAGES WILL HELP PRE HOSPITAL AND THEY HAVE "ANTI-FREAK OUT" DRUGS IN THE HOSPITAL. (THATS WHAT HELPED FOR THE CATH)
