Only I could do something like this! ! My husband's uncle recently died and we bought his old Dixon Zero turn lawn mower. It took my husband a little while to get it up and running because it had sit in his uncle's garage for over two years. Well, he did finally get it running. I jumped on it and used it out in the big part of the yard to get used to how it turns. Well I thought I was catching on really well so I moved to the yard in the front and back of the house. Remember about two years ago we put white vinyl fence all around our farm. I was doing so well and all of a sudden I went over a bump in the yard and got frustrated (the stupid mower doesn't have any brakes, you just pull back on the handles!) and ran right through the fence. Thank goodness it was vinyl, it just popped the three board. If it had been wooden they would have broke in half. So my husband just about fell over laughing. He got me started again and I was mowing out by the barn. Now remember this is in the same day. As most of you know with a Zero turn you can get so much closer to things. It's supposed to save on weed-eating, which I hate!
I had made one run around the big tractor's in the shed that I thought well I could even get closer. Well low and behold I got closer all right. I got so close I literally ran over the back wheel of the brush hog, popped a big hole in the lawn mower's back wheel, even popped the wheel completely off. Nevertheless this stopped me. Eddie spent all day that Saturday trying to find a wheel and get it mounted. Last week the front wheel fell off the the wheel went flat again. I don't know if I like this stupid mower of not. I think I'll go back to my John Deere mower. It's safer for me and everything else. LOL. I did mow with the Zero turn yesterday and did fine. I just go real slow when I get real close to anything. Another thing you don't do is if you have to get off to move a rock or a stick or something, you don't grab the handle bars to sit back down, it will go around in a circle with you. What a sight that probably had to be!
I thought you would all enjoy this story. I really do some stupid things sometime. Oh well, you have to laugh in life and at myself the majority of the time! !
