I was curious as to how much snow we had - as you can see there are a few different totals for Estes Park - different parts of town - maybe that are higher in elevation, get more snow than others. I also did not know what thundersnow was exactly - but had an idea - we also had that in Iowa a few times and my Dad would always say to count 100 days from the time you heard the thunder in a snowstorm and there would be a really big storm - he told us that was an old Indian sign.
My Dad was quite the character.
Anyway, here is the link for the site that gives the snow totals for Colorado as of 7 p.m. Below that is a site where you can read about thundersnow. I think you may have to copy and paste the second URL regarding thundersnow into your browser.
P.S. The Denver area and the plains are getting the least snow right now - it is the foothills and eastern mountains, which is where Estes Park is, that are getting the most snow.
