Hey folks it's 1:45am and later today is my big day I should be at the hospital at 5:30 am. I'm not as nervous or scared any more, I would have to say I'm just a little bit worried even though I'm sure that things will be fine. I want to thank all of you on this site I've soaked up quite a bit of information and inspiration from the stories and advice. Well I have to go and get some rest I'll post something as soon as I'm able. See you soon!

Home finally!!!

Home finally!!!

Hi friends it's Elpidio I came home from the hospital just yesterday, 2 days shy of being in the hospital a full 2 months. My surgery turned out to be anything but "textbook". The day after surgery one of my lungs collapsed and I ended up in a coma for 10 days. When I awoke I had been placed on a ventillator. I was sent to a rehab/hospital where they weined me off the machine and I had to learn to walk and eat again. The valve surgery went well but my heart was in such bad shape they put in a pace maker also. I thank God and I'm grateful to be alive. I also want to thank my family and friends for praying for me and supporting me. I'll write more later as I tire easily I just wanted to let you guys know I made it to the other side!!!!
