hi all, Walter here. Home with a mitral repair which is what I wanted. Will write more when I'm in less pain. One lung is diminished and some feet swelling I need to take care of. Thank you all for prayers and well wishes. God watch over you all....

Keep after that lung with the breathing exercises they told you about and it should pump up again.

Glad to hear you're home. Congratulations!

Glad you're at home!
I had problems with a right lower lobe that didn't want to act right. Keep using the incentive spirometer and that should take care of it!

Congrats, Walter - being home is such a relief. No one chasing you around with needles.

Breathe, walk and nap. I followed the advice of fellow-vr.com-ers and used the spirometer very often - helped a lot.

Glad to see you home, Walter. Take it day by day and each one will be an improvement.

Welcome home!

Welcome home!

Hi Walter - Thanks for posting to let us know how you are doing. So glad that you were able to have a repair rather than a replacement - one of the happiest moments in my life was in the ICU when I wrote a note to my husband (still had the breathing tube) asking about repair/replacement and he said they had been able to repair my valve. I was prepared for a replacement if needed, and know that might still be necessary some day, but it sure is nice to still have my own tissue.

Best wishes for a smooth complete recovery!
Liz

Welcome home Walter.
Happy to hear about the repair. I hope it lasts a lifetime.

Walter,

Welcome Home and God Bless you with a speedy recovery and lets your little problems go away soon!
So glad that you were able to have the repair that you wanted.
Hopefully those sweet little girls of yours make it all better!

So Happy to Hear From You

So Happy to Hear From You

Walter, You've been in my thoughts, and it is great to hear you're on the other side of the mountain. I hope these current symptoms resolve quickly! All the best, Brian

Glad you are Home!

Glad you are Home!

Walter,
The spirometer really makes a difference (even though it wasn't/isn't my favorite!) Also, keep the fluids going. Fruit juice is your best friend,
Terry
