Your stress test results???

Hi!

Random question.

Lots of folks on here have stress test post surgery.

Could you tell me how long a period of time you were able to stay on the treadmill?

My husband only made 4-1/2 minutes, and although I know this is low, I kind of want a comparison!

I think my last one was about a year before surgery and I think I did an amazing 6 or 8 minutes and that was low for me, at age 32. They wanted me to do at least 12 minutes. I think I freaked myself out though.

Is there a recommended waiting period AFTER surgery before having a stress test?

It seems that most people wait 6 weeks before starting Cardiac Rehab. It took me 12 weeks to get my insurance approved and then find an opening in their schedule.

I was 3 years post AVR last April. My last stress test was in January of this year. I did 11 minutes. The test was stopped because my heart rate had reached it's desired maximun by the cardiologist of 160. My resting heart rate now runs between 90 & 100 bpm. I'm 70.

Your stress test results???

Hi,

It has been about 8 weeks since my surgery ( triple bypass )..doc said my bicuspid aortic valve performing just fine.

- seen my cardiologist ..all OK
- seen my surgeon ...all OK
- had a prelim with the cardiac rehab people ..weight, height,
diet, BMI, exercise habits etc.

- will have a stress test Sept. 3...am anxious to see the results,

at home I am up to 4 Km in 45 min. walking. ( the rehab people gave me hell for riding my mountain bike ) I am also walking the golf course with my buddies but only putting and short chipshots.
