I;ve had 2 oopherectomys within the past year and it looks as if another surgery is warranted. On the last surgery a 10cm bloodclot had formed and was diagnosed 5 days after surgery. I had numerous complications and ended up in the hospital for almost 3 weeks and was NPO most of that time. I lost 15 pounds and now my hair is falling out. The bloodclot has been causing me alot of pain so I have an appointment with a surgeon on Tuesday for a second opinion. My GYN/ONC has told me she plans on doing NOTHING no matter the pain involved since she has done 2 surgeries on me and I have had so many complications. That is why I decided to consult with a surgeon. The Onc has been so hard to get along with. I know that she is afraid Im going to sue her. My INR/PT levels have been low for awhile now and I know If I have surgery I will have to go off Coumadin and take Lovenox shots for awhile (yuck). The clot is the size of a softball and its hurting so bad! Wish me luck and please say a prayer for me. Thanks for all of you always being there for me.

Alicia,

It does not seem fair for you to suffer so. I can't imagine going npo for so long. You are so brave and such an inspiration.

My biggest prayer and wishes are that you have a good support in getting through these difficult times.

Good luck with your doctors. I am becoming very disenchanted with some of the docs out there. Getting timely app'ts with the good ones are impossible. You need the patience of Job to negociate through the health field.

Keep us informed and I hope you can assimilate strength via osmosis from this group.

Prayers are with you,

Donna

You've had more than your share. Way more. I hope they come to a conclusion that helps you soon, so this can be in the past.

My wife had one ovary done several years ago. It was supposed to be about an hour, and laproscopic. It turned into almost four hours, and was converted into a "standard incision" halfway through, which she still doesn't like touched, as the nerves are weird there.

And she didn't have Coumadin to worry about, or develop a clot. We will be thinking of you and your trouble.

Best wishes,

Alicia,

What a difficult situation for you. I've been concerned since it seemed like we had lost contact with you and I knew you had been having a rough time of it. I will definitely put you into my prayers.

Dear Alicia - so nice to hear from you, but I am sorry to hear you are having such problems. You have been through way too many things. You are in my prayers. Ann

Alicia-

You've had such a rough time. I believe your GYN/ONC is running scared and is afraid to operate on you anymore. So time to move on to someone who can handle the heat. Find yourself a better doctor. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Alicia - Sorry to hear your latest problems. You are definitely the hardest case among us and I'm sure you must be tired of my continued optimism. Please keep pushing ahead and try to overcome the adversity. I will be praying for you and hoping for a happy ending to all your health problems.

Alicia,
I can sort of empathise with you on being npo. Once when I had surgery I was npo for two days before and three days afterwards. That seemed like an eternity! Even though you are facing ca and i was facing a reconstruction of my aortic valve before such things were done.

I know you don't write me or confide with me in any way...but I want you to know ,I wish you the best.

You?re too young to be having so many problems!

Wow, Alicia!

How very scary it must be for you. Please know that you are not alone... we are all thinking of you and sending you lots of positive vibes. I tend to agree with Nancy also.

Best wishes
