Amsterdam, Oct. 8 ? Heart patients may soon be able to buy underwear designed to detect heart rhythm abnormalities and even call for an ambulance in case of emergency, according to researchers at Netherlands-based Philips Electronics.

Ross,
Are you kidding? Can't believe it! Maybe the Forum could get group discount? HAHA... HFK

I thought this would be a more acceptable form of undergarment then the thong. I mean come on now, it is a medical device after all. ;)

I'd love to hear the insurance companies howling over paying for these!:p

So if they can make outgoing calls, why not INCOMING? Yes, you heard it here first, all new cell-speedos from Verizon.

Can you hear me now?

I wonder where you stick the batteries!:D

After I picked myself up off the floor and stopped laughing, the thought occured to me that maybe they'll come in different styles. Don't rule out the thong yet Ross!!!!

That one put me back on the floor again.

Ross, we are indebted to you for keeping us up to date on all the latest technology (and fashion).

PS - Hank has got to jump at this. I think the underwear should have the VR.com logo.

I hate to ask but where in that general area would you get abnormal heartbeats etc. I had a lot of them but they were in the upper part of the body such as wrists, neck etc.

great laughs going on here!!! What a thought. And yes, where are the irregular heart beats felt? You guys are too much.

I would think they would be using the Femoral Arteries as the points to monitor. Same area as where they insert the Catheters at. I know my surgeon felt the artery on the inside of my thigh and down at the foot and said that when someone has severe aortic regurg, he can feel it as well as hear it down there with a stethoscope.

I think you are right Ross but they will have to be a pair of really tight pants to get the job done.
