They called me this morning from the Mayo and told me that my rhythm issues are being caused by an area(s) in my right atrium and that it should respond well to an ablation! I'm so excited, I could just scream. In fact, I think I did scream into the ladies ear when she told me. So, June 19th is the magical date and I have to be there two days prior for a 48 hour 12 lead holter monitor (not sure how this will work because isn't a 12 lead where you have them on your legs and arms as well?) Anyway, then ablation on that Friday and in the hospital for the rest of the weekend.

Fingers crossed! Hopefully this will be the end of this misery so I can get on with things.

Kim

Yeah Kimmie! I am so glad to read your post & I can feel your excitement! Our prayers are getting answered girl!!!

I pray that the ablation will be the end of your misery & like you said, so that you can get on with your life! :)

Praise God!

I just received my report from the Mayo as well. My right ventricle has "severe enlargement with severe decrease in systolic function" (thank goodness it isn't my left), my right and left atrium are mildly enlarged and my left ventricle is "NORMAL" (at least something is!). My new valve has a mild/moderate leak with a mean gradiant of 5, which is what it was right after sugery. I think they said that then it gets to 10 will be when it is time to replace it and that a "normal" person's native valve would have a gradiant of 2. My mitral has a mild/moderate leak as well. All my other valves are good. My EF is 60%. So, even though it may not sound like a great report, they are happy that my heart is stable.

As long as things are stable Kimmie.....be calm & put your faith in God. :)

So hope this will provide you relief. Happy to hear that your heart remains stable. In that context, you got good news.

Kimmie,
So glad you found out what was going on. I could only imagine how thrilled you are. Good Luck and I hope this takes care of everything, that will take a big load off your mind. Stable is GOOD!!

Thanks for all of your well wishes. I know no one should be as excited as I am about having a heart procedure done, but I just can't wait! They told me it will be very complicated due to all of the other "stuff" that has been done to my heart, but still gave me pretty good percentages of success.

I wish you the best of luck with your proceedure. I do not know how you could be so excited though. Good luck & God Bless.

Because I have been living with 25,000 pac's a day, mostly in a bigeminy pattern and it has been driving me CRAZY!

Kim

Well I wish you the best of luck. I myself have had two & am looking at having another. (A-Fib) It use to drive me nuts also.

Kim, that's fantastic news! It's good to get answers. They have finally got a line on what's causing all this havoc and the incessant torment. And better yet there's now hope that ablation might solve this problem. I really hope this works and that it can be accomplished safely. I bet you will be sleeping well tonight!

Im so happy for you Kim... Ablations do work if you are able to have it done.. I have been struggling with Arrhythmias for 5 years now... the first doctor told me they couldn't do an ablation (long story). so during my valve replacement they did a maze procedure... i haven't had one single arrhythmia since then. I was having like 6-10 a day before. You will feel so much better.

Kim .... I am so pleased for you and my prayers is that the ablation is a huge success ... as you know I had ablation along with my AVR and so far (three years later) no return of that pesky rhythm gremlin....
