I've had a really positive day today and just wanted to share (..makes a nice change from the griping :D ..).

First of all I had an appointment with a new GP who seemed pretty switched on. I gave him the "Reader's Digest" version of what's been going on and the troubles I've been having with my cardios and he was very sympathetic and surprised at the brick walls I've been running up against. I also raised a couple of other issues with him and he was right on to them, so that was very encouraging.

My second win for the day was my appointment with a "rehabilitation" officer. We've been discussing me undertaking some home study while I'm waiting for my medical issues to resolve themselves. We had a meeting today and I've had funding approved for almost 50% of the costs of my course (..I'm now officially enroled to study for a Diploma in Business (Advertising)..). I'm also eligible for an interest-free loan to cover almost the rest of the costs, so I should be able to get started next week (yay!). I can't wait to get the ol' grey matter ticking over again!

I also only have to wait another 2 weeks before moving into the "new" house, so my days of living out of a suitcase are numbered - woo-hoo!!

I'm just SOOOO glad things have FINALLY started to move in the right direction.

Cheers all,
Anna : )

Sounds like the overcast clouds have moved on and away from you. GREAT! Hope you didn't send them this way? Isn't it nice when things all of a sudden , just fall into place?

Good luck on resurrecting the gray matter. Never stop learning! ;)

Thats Great Anna!!!!!!!!!

Thats Great Anna!!!!!!!!!

Hi Anna,
I am Thrilled for you, I bet your tickled pink to be able to get some courses under your belt so you can do what you wanna do...Congratulations!!! Harrybaby666 :D :D

wonderful news!

wonderful news!

That is so great, Anna! I'm so glad to hear that your efforts are finally paying off. Isn't it a relief to find a doctor who just has the right chemistry!! How fun that you'll be studying advertising and business. My husband is in media and has truly enjoyed the creative and professional associations he's made in the advertising world. GOOD LUCK!!

:D Marguerite

Anna, I'm so glad that things are finally looking up for you. You deserve it. It's also great that you have found a doctor that is listening to you. I believe that angels are looking out for you. :) :)

So nice!

So nice!

Hi Anna, it's so good when things go well for somebody we like! I'm very happy for you and hope you achieve everything you want to. Having a doctor we can trust is also very important, after all, it's our lives we're talking about! I'm also very happy now that I've talked to my surgeon and he assured me that I won't be needing surgery in the near future, and guess what!? I too will be moving house in a couple of weeks! Good luck with your studies and your new home! Take care!!
Débora :D :) :D

See, Anna? All you needed was a change of venue...

Congratulations on having some things go well for a change. It's good to see things pick up for you.

Best wishes,

Anna-

Great news! Having a doctor who listens and understands should make a great difference, I'm sure. I bet you're really looking forward to taking on some new courses - learning is fun and really brightens your outlook on life.

My brain has certainly been stimulated this first week on my new job - and I am physically exhausted from doing the new 'day' job and then going to my old office each evening and all weekend to finish off old business and wrap up. I hope that I can get all of that dealt with by the end of November. Then I have to sell my office furnishings and find someone to lease the office space...

Hi Anna,
great to hear that things are going so well...you deserve it after all you have been through. Hoping that your visit with the surgeon in November is a positive experience too.
Cheers,
Yolanda

Hi everyone, thanks for all the good wishes and encouragement. I figured after all the whinging I'd done here lately (..mind you - not without good reason!..) that it would be nice to post something positive.

Debora -
Good luck with the move! It really is a much bigger job than you ever credit it to be. I'm also glad to hear you won't be facing surgery any time soon - I hope you're feeling well in the meantime.

Bill -
I hope the new job has been going well and that you've made some new friends in the process. It sure sounds like you'll be a busy boy until the end of the year, but I'm sure you'll be loving every minute of it!!

Marguerite -
I've spent several years working in the industry - albeit in administrative roles - and it truly is invigorating. Now I hope I can get my teeth stuck into the creative side and really cut loose (..watch out!..).

Betty -
Yes, I do love the house... although she needs a bit of work - a new kitchen is first on the agenda. I can't wait to get in there! I've tried to attach a photo, but since this is my first attempt with pics, I don't know how it will go.

Again, thanks everyone and I'll keep you posted on how things go.

Cheers
Anna : )

Hi Anna, your house is in the Arts and Craftman style that is ever so popular here right now. As people say, "the house has good bones!" Thanks for posting the picture. It looks like a wonderful place.

Anna:

Your new house looks wonderful!!! Congratulations on your upcoming move.

We lived 3 miles from downtown Fort Worth Texas for almost 16 years, near all the museums, Will Rogers Memorial Complex, not far from Texas Christian University. Lots of homes there just like your new home.

It looks familiar!

It looks familiar!

Hi Anna, it looks like you've got yourself a really nice place to live in. This house reminds me of the ones I've seen in my hometown in the state of Santa Catarina. As soon as the new one I'm going to move into is finally finished, I'll post a picture of it here too. I hope you're really happy in it and nothing else goes wrong for you from now on! By the way, is Australia really 15 hours ahead of Brazil? In this case, have a nice Sunday which's just starting over there!
Débora :)

500!!!

500!!!

OMG!! This is my 500th post! I gotta stop talking so much :D :D

Betty -
Yep, it sure does have "good bones". We call the style "Californian Bungalow" over here (..don't know if that's the same over there and I can't really say I remember what bungalows looked like the last time I was in California! :D ..).

Debora -
Hope all goes well with your new place. I can never decide if it's more fun having an old place to do up, or a new place with all the mod-cons already in place! As far as the time difference, yes, we probably are about 15hrs ahead of Brazil, and most the US. Even more when we start daylight saving (bleaurgh!). I remember Western Australia was about 14hrs ahead of California and where I am now is another 2hrs ahead of that!

Cheers all,
Anna : )
