kvntoday has introduced me to the above site which is the outcome of a grant from roache in new zealand for a doctor/software developer to create an online inr management system. it is fully operational but so far seems to have no publicity.
it is stated that ownership of a coaguchek is a prerequisite for participation but i suspect it would work equally well with any home test unit.
seems there is a 3 month free trail and a charge of nz$10.00 per month thereafter.
one simply signs up online and the service "tells" your doctor you have signed up. now i am very happy with my g.p. so i emailed him to ask if he had any comments/objections to my joining up. the g.p advised he had never heard of the site, but he had looked at it and said it seemed a very good idea and that i was welcome to give it a go.
so i am going to do that today. i do not have any particular problems with my current inr management as i stay in my range of 3 to 4 but a few times per month will go slightly out of range by no more than .5. but i have never had a disaster.
i am slightly cavalier in my attention to recording dosages taken as my only record is the test results in my coaguchek and also i eat almost 100% chinese food with plenty of soy and greens and diet spikes when there is an abundance of a particular vegetable in our garden. e.g. heaps of beans means big plates of bean dishes! hint, if you do not like food like that you should be sure to avoid young chinese chicks!
so i will be interested to see if inronline can improve my inr management.
i will keep youse (kiwi slang) posted
