Just in case you ever got the two mixed up. This should make things a bit clearer.

IN PRISON... you spend the majority of your time in an 8X10 cell.
AT WORK... you spend the majority of your time in a 6X8 cubicle.

IN PRISON... you get three meals a day.
AT WORK... you only get a break for one meal and you pay for it.

IN PRISON... you get time off for good behavior.
AT WORK... you get more work for good behavior.

IN PRISON... the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
AT WORK... you must carry around a security card and open all the doors for yourself.

IN PRISON... you can watch TV and play games.
AT WORK... you get fired for watching TV and playing games.

IN PRISON... you get your own toilet.
AT WORK... you have to share with some idiot who pees on the seat.

IN PRISON... they allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK... you can't even speak to your family.

IN PRISON... the taxpayers pay all expenses with no work required.
AT WORK... you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.

IN PRISON... you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out.
AT WORK... you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

IN PRISON... you must deal with sadistic wardens.
AT WORK... they are called managers.

Have a Great Day at WORK!

Ya know Dale, I used to have this very saying in my office. Wouldn't you know, the regional manager came in, took one look at it, ripped it off the wall and tore it up, then wrote me up! Man had no sense of humor whatsoever. He was a for real live Richard Cranium.

Hi Dale,

I've been missing you around here. A short while back one of our newer members posed the question about how to give up control of her life to others while going through OHS and recovery. She asked if anyone else felt the need to really stay in control. Your name and face immediately popped into my mind and I began wondering how you were doing. I hope everything is going well .....and I do see the humor in your post :) , thanks!

Sorry I haven't been around much. I've been running my snowthrower at work trying to get out from under the avalanche that hit my desk on May 20th (my first day back, of course). Thank God for Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation, or I'd have never gotten out of the office on time!

I've been lurking around, but by the time I read all the updates, it's past my bedtime and/or the threads are more than a week old.

Things seem to be letting up at work and settling down at home, so I'm hoping to come around more often.

I've just passed my 5-month surgical anniversary. I'll post my progress in the "Post Surgery" forum in a few days.

Dale,

It's good to hear from you again and it sounds like you're doing well. Keep in touch.
