Our dog (Maya) would never leave my side through the whole post OHS.
What great companions they are. If they could only clean house.

Bina, that is so true! Pictures are awesome! My dog slept right by me every night after OHS. They are great
Our animal companions are the greatest! This is my Brad, who is eight this month. We rescued him when he was 10 weeks old.

I was just telling someone last night who was thinking about doing animal assisted therapy, how uplifting it was while I was in the hospital to see those visitation dogs come in the door!
I saw my husband every day during those 3 weeks, but could not wait to get home to my dogs!
My biggest reward was the first time Tank and I ran in an agility trial 5 months after surgery.

Jim, it looks like Brad may have rolled in something......naughty pup.
Laurie, I know of a couple of people doing PAT (pet assisted therapy) in hospitals, one has a Portuguese water dog, and the other has a German Shepherd. It is amazing what these doggies bring to a patient....love, kindness, and no judgements.
