Geez - I could hardly sleep last night. Does anyone else experience twitching muscles at night? I had several in my stomach/rib area last night. They began after dinner and would not stop! Endless twitching so I could not get to sleep, and when I did sleep, it woke me right back up! I tried stretching, massaging, pinching, it just about drove me nuts!

But the wish me luck is for tomorrow. I have to go in for needle biopsy. Great way to start the New Year.

Monday is a federal holiday, so I will have a 4 day weekend. No way I am going back to the office after my appointment in the am.

I could use your prayers.

Does it hurt much? I delivered 3 babies, but I HATE needles! I'm wishing it was over. I hate waiting a week for results.

Sending positive thoughts your way Peggy. I hope all goes well with the biopsy. In the meantime, I sometimes get really twitchy, crampy legs at night and I've always found that topping up my magnesium (a couple of magnesium vitamin pills) before bed seems to make quite a difference.

All the best
Anna : )

I'm adding you to my prayers.

I'm adding you to my prayers.

I so hope and pray that the results are negative. Sending hugs,as well.

Thanks Everyone

Thanks Everyone

Anna - I'll check into that magnesium for the twitching muscles.

I was in the biopsy room, all ready for the procedure. The tech had explained what was going to happen. Doc comes in and says there is a risk of bleeding and infection. I say, wait a minute, should I have antibiotics before this? He says, why? No one thought about this, not even me, because I didn't know it involved an incision, I figured get poked by a long needle, no big deal. But I wasn't going to take a chance, so we postponed it to tomorrow. Now I have had a week to think about the whole procedure, and I'm on pins and needles [no pun intended].

But my cardio. doc did want me pre-medicated so I made the right decision.

Will let you all know next week.

More good thoughts for tomorrow are really appreciated! You guys are great!

Peggy,

Somehow I missed this thread before now. I'm glad you asked about the antibiotics even though it meant a delay. I hope it all goes well for you and the results are favorable. Prayers have been said and I know you are in good hands.

Hi Peggy-

They numb you pretty well. Only a pinch of the needle to numb the site.
They told me to keep an ice pack on the site afterward (can't remember how
long). I went to lunch with a friend afterward (rather gingerly I might add).
It was her B-Day. Then I went home and put my feet up. Take some pain
meds and you should be OK. I guess it might depend on where the lump is.
Mine was in the upper and inner quadrant not to deep. Let us know how it
goes. Sorry for the last reply. Nothing like child birth. It will be a breeze.
And a benign outcome is what we'll be praying for.

Take Care!

My wife has had several needle biopsies, and they matched Kim's experience pretty much. While she did have one cyst removed, like the rest, it was benign.

I hope yours turns out to be harmless as well. Good luck!

Best wishes,

Peggy, my prayers and thoughts will be with you. I have had several needle biopsies. There is some pressure but basically that's it. I was always numbed before they put the needle in. The only one that really hurt was the Bone Marrow Biopsy they had to do to confirm that I had CML, but that goes directily into your sternum through your chest muscle. I absoulety refuse to have that one done again without being put to sleep. I pray that you will have good results.

Benign, Benign, Benign!!!!!!

Benign, Benign, Benign!!!!!!

Thanks to all of your thoughts and prayers, I had a good result. Benign is such a nice word!

I hope I never have to go through that again. They did let my husband in the biopsy room with me and that helped a lot.
