well, wish me luck.. annual cardiologist appt tomorrow afternoon.. I usually take off work so as not to throw off the BP and EKG machines toooo much, but have wwwaaaaaaayyyyyy too much to do.. (I swear, no one listens to my collection problems until EOY is in sight (3rd qtr and of course 4th), then it's this meeting for this and that meeting for that.. so my new work goal I was given is to collect everything over 60 by end of 3rd qtr.. (45 days left) - I call it, "let's see who I can piss off today" goal.. :)

anyway, tomorrow is the big day I get to see my cardiologist.. he's actually pretty cool.. both he and my GP (work in same office) don't have a problem with me self testing and self dosing.. I don't forsee any problems other then the normal, "... chris you need to work on your weight..." i'm not "heavy" but not where a heart patient should be.. but I swear, my metabolism shut down when I hit 30 (39 now) and the beta blockers don't help.. (ok, I may be off base on that one, but when I cut my pills in half, the weight was coming off, went back up to full for BP related, and I stalled - you be the judge).

at any rate, one never knows what they will find when you go in and they take a listen... so wish me luck, or prayers.. again, I don't forsee any issues, just one never knows..

thanks
Chris

I agree with you about putting on weight with Beta blockers. I've seen it just too many times! I hope everything does go really well for you and you get no unpleasant surprises.

Good luck, I'm sure all will be well. You cant let the work thing stress you out to much. I understand what you are saying and pissing off customers is not fun. 60 is kind of pressing isn't it?

I wish you a great report. I always get kind of anxious when my checkups roll around.

Thanks all, it went fine.. still clicking away clearly and crisply as they say... was kinda bummed when I lost the battle of "..it's the betablockers that are stalling my weight loss..." argument.. I got the typical "...it's more psychological then medical..." speech.. need to excercise more - my ".. I live in a 3rd floor walk up and take the stairs at work.." line didn't impress him.. oh, well.. guess I need to start using that gym membership I have but don't use... but we did compromise and lowered the betablocker by half... which works for me since I was losing when I cut my own pills in half several months ago. it was when I stopped doing that that the weight stalled.. good for another year anyway...

finally able to take a semi decent pic of myself today.. for someone who takes pics as a hobby, and hopefully someday professionaly, my digital point and shoot is a bit more tricky then my 35mm SLR when it comes to taking pics of myself (finally figured out I have more then two flash modes on the thing - go figure) anyway, new avitar - for the time being..

That's good news! Congrats! :) And good luck with the weight loss....I am doing very badly with that myself. :( It's not easy, to put it mildly.

Thanks Nan, appreciate the kind words

and sorry - didn't realize it posted twice until just now.. I accidently hit the enter key but since it came back to my original posting screen, thought I didn't do too much harm..

well, time to go exploring the nite sky.. trying to find a really dark, yet safe place to take a long exposed picture of the stars next week.. it'll be new moon, best time for shooting the stars.. did it years ago, but only for about 15 minutes, only short streaks, hoping for swirls this time around. will post if decent..
