Was watching the weather channel...You people in New York (Harpoon and Nancy) ..are you getting snow? ...Yikes, it's suppose to be a hard freeze tonight in the Mountains of North Georgia. We brought the Banana plants and ferns into basement.. How about you people in Michigan? Any snow, yet? Bonnie

No Snow here in WI yet. Although I think it has been predicted tonight or this week.

There's been snow showers all around here, but none of it hit the ground. It's certainly cold enough for it!

We've had a bunch of frosts, and are due for a real hard freeze tonight. The evening sky and clouds have that purple tint that only shows up during cold times in the North...

We've been having flurries for a week now, and it was quite cold today. We've also had several frosts. Still haven't cleaned up our leaves yet. We live on very treed property and are knee deep in leaves. This year we had to get a service to do them. Hopefully they'll be here tomorrow. They vacuum them up and cart them away.

You know, those dang trees get bigger every year, and have more and more leaves. Can't afford to have the big ones cut down, they are real monsters, the pines, especially. I think we had a quote of $1500.00 per tree for the huge ones.

We have lots of oak trees. It's interesting that last year and the year before, they produced millions and millions of acorns. The mailman told me that he felt like he was walking on ball bearings. This year there are very, very few.

Wasn't there someone here who is a pecan grower? I seem to remember a mention of heavy nut production one year and then nothing. Wonder why??

Anyway, winter is just around the corner here. I've been wearing winter coats for walking the dog in the early morning.

We had 39 one morning - I think it was Friday, but it has warmed back up. Are we going to have a severe season this winter? Anybody know?

Pecans - there won't be any this year. The hurricanes blew them all away. In fact, leaves on most of the trees blew away and then the trees thought it was spring, so they sprouted the newness of spring. Imagine seeing a spring tree sprouting flowers in October.

Yikes!!! Did Someone Say That "S" Word?

Yikes!!! Did Someone Say That "S" Word?

What an aweful word to hear...Snow.....The skies here in Rottenchester, New Hampshire looked like snow could just drop at any minute here....   Gosh, I hope not...I am nowhere near ready for this yet, although I know it's coming...   Although, I do have to admit, the first real snowfall is kinda nice, but after that, they can take the snow and just shovel it. :D :D :D LOL Harrybaby666

We had our first frost a couple of nights ago. Other than that it's been beautiful fall weather here in Music City.

Well lets see.. Snow, not even close. Saturday it was 84 here. Sunday and monday were nice with some light rain and highs in the low 70s. This is my favorite time of year!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.......

Yeah... I drove out to my class this morning (I take English, Math, and 2D Design in a satelite campus that's about 5 minutes from my house and on Tuesdays and Thursdays have to drive half an hour +/- for an "Intro to Art" class at the main campus) and as I got higher in elevation (and further from Lake Erie which is still keeping the shoreline warm with it's warmer water) evidence of snow fall started showing up.

It snowed ever so slightly yesterday but nothing stuck to the ground. Well it most have snowed some more overnight because there was maybe half an inch in places starting about half way between my house and the community college campus.

I am NOT looking forward to making that drive in December...

Hey, we have a list posted on a bulletin board in the newsroom here: "15 signs you MIGHT be a Western New Yorker"

Among the many signs, one is having jumper cables in the truck or back seat of your car (yup!) and a snowshovel (yup!), even in the summer.

I also have a pair of boots that come up almost to my knees and a nice "roadside" first aid and emergency kit.

I think I'll be putting the studded tires on the car over Thanksgiving break...

I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW! I HATE SNOW!

Oh yeah, one other SURE sign of the season; I've got the song "Let it Snow" echoing through my head... Been like that since this morning.

I am SO depressed....
