Is there anything more beautiful than snow at some-one else?s house?

Winter has descended on the Jemez with a vengeance. But, before all you lowlanders and Southerners get too smug, here is a picture I took on our way down to the hot tub. You can see the small deck rails of the hot tub on the lower left of the picture. There are a few new pictures on my Flickr site, including some from Puerto Rico.

And to be honest, plowing all the snow on our very long driveway, dragging in firewood, (to say nothing about getting out of the hot-tub at 16 degrees) does set one?s mind to thinking about warmer places (like Puerto Rico).

But I look at these mountains, and I can?t imagine I would ever leave.

Rocky Mountain High

Dennis, Just how high are you folks up there? Looks heavenly, but I'd think the air is a tad thin. Love all the pics! Thanks, Brian

Elevation:

We are at 7,200 feet, and the mountain top hidden in the clouds is somewhere between 11,000 to 12,000 feet. The air does seem a little thin to many people when they first get here. Of course, many people live at much higher elevations than our without a problem. Because of connections with the medical community, I had my AVR in Minneapolis, which has an elevation of about 600 feet. It was a shock getting back to this elevation after my surgery.

(While that's awfully pretty, I prefer the orange trees at my house:D...!)

Dennis..good to hear from you. I thought maybe winter had gobbled you up!

Keep those photos coming....we love them!

:D Marguerite

Great pictures and views. I always enjoyed the Wasatch mountain range when I lived in Salt Lake but much prefer the Red mountains in southern UT but yours are outstanding.
BTW, it's nice to know I'm not the only person that goes outside and into a hot tub when the weather is cold. :D
